What is Existentialism?
Have you ever wondered what the meaning of life is and what is our inherent sense of existence on this planet? I would not recommend that you follow this idea, as it often leads to the absurd that few can manage. Still, if you think about it, then you already have as part of the inherent absurdity of life and meet you face the central problem of existentialism. Existentialism is not a theory or philosophy in stone. It is a philosophy that has developed over the centuries; through the questioning of human existence and its importance is that the old philosophers.
Soren Kierkegaard, philosopher of the 19th Century, is considered the father of existentialism, as it the first of his central idea in the most clear that there was “existence precedes essence.” We do not want to come into this world with a predetermined destiny and our personalities are shaped by the confrontation of our own reality. As another existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre put it in his own words, “Man is true in the first place, waves in the world – to define and then.” This excerpt is from his work in French, “Existentialism is a humanism that is generally considered to be as the standard work on the philosophy of existentialism. While it is really impossible for me to explain fully what existentialism, a philosophy, the broad and complex is to require individual study we have tried to present the central themes and ideas of existentialism in the following lines.
What is the philosophy of existentialism?
Existentialism is a realistic analysis of the human condition. It explores the reality in the context of human existence to essentially provide an answer to the question, what is the ultimate goal of life. Like all philosophical theories, it offers a way of approaching life. Here are the key concepts underlying philosophy of existentialism, in terms of my mental capacity was modest means.
The first man there, and then it creates itself
The central concept of existentialism is that man creates his own destiny by their own choice. He was not born with a personality, but it creates that result. Yes, external factors do not shape his personality, but basically, it starts as a tabula rasa on which he later wrote his life story. The human mind creates its own life and the kind of choice and action determines that he or she is. He has put together a picture of the world and their position in it, which undergoes changes during its existence, until finally hits the end of everything.
The man is fully responsible for your actions
A corollary of the above idea is the fact that man is entirely responsible for his actions. There is no fate that takes the path of life. He chooses to be good or bad, and his actions define him. Existentialist’s example prefers to take responsibility for their actions, rather than faith in an idea of fate or destiny.
The world is inherently Meaningless
There is no universal right or wrong, or Karma system that happens to good things or bad things to anyone to do depending on his past deeds or actions. The worst things happen to good people tend to so-called so-called bad people to prosper. There is no logic to this system of things, leading existentialist is clear that the world as we know, is meaningless. Things just happen and there is no accounting for what purpose is going on. See you around, what is known as an existential crisis, when the inherent meaning of life decisions in their true proportions.
Everyone is free
while the man is connected to limitations of material existence and responsibility to maintain its own system of values in this field; he is free to make their own decisions. You can choose a life to live as long as he prepared to want to take over for them and the responsibility for his own actions is.
The purpose of life is completely subjective
As a direct consequence of the above concepts, it follows that, since life has no meaning in itself, it must be we who choose to find meaning in life. Existentialist accept that life is meaningless in itself, and chose a meaning in life, I find that to be true. Thus, the existentialists realists who accept the futility of life and seeks their lives a meaning for themselves. This process of finding your target is finding itself in a search.
The importance of authentic & Sincere
Much time is especially sincere and genuine, as the purpose in life tracking. This is in contrast to a fatalistic attitude that if a person acts, because he will act in a certain way should. Being honest person in your life is from within to exercise freedom of choice and responsibility for your actions.
We create your own moral rules
There is no inherent moral teaching that one is born with us. We create our own morality and live by. Moral values of our definition, what is laid out right and wrong?
Fear is fear and boredom inevitable
Uncertainty, fear and anxiety caused by investing in the material world and boredom the things you have learned to live with existential are added. He takes as a result of the inherent absurdity of life.
Abandoned is due to non-existence of God
Existentialists, the atheists in the category of experience, which fall as a “task”, about might. The fact that no live supervision, control and bring order in this world, it is certainly a comforting thought, and existentialists dear to her, instead of in some irrational utopian world, there might not reality.
Among the many examples of existentialism in literature are the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Franz Kafka. There are several works more like “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk, is based on existential issues. The definitive book on existentialism, very much for those of you who want to deepen recommend Jean Paul Sartre is published “Being and Nothingness”, 1943. All works by Albert Camus is also essential reading for anyone who seriously wants to study existentialism. I ended the conversation with one of the most popular websites by Jean Paul Sartre’s existentialism, which holds the philosophy;
“Man is condemned to be free, because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”
