Undiscovered Destinations
Yelapa was unfortunately discovered, and now with tourists crowded. Often, and one is that I have nothing against tourists. But if the mass is too thick, I prefer more secret places. Here are some examples of some of these destinations, which are still undiscovered.
Not all destinations are full of tourists. In fact, not all of them are even on the map. I had an interest in these “secret” places since I first discovered two little lakes high in the hills and cliffs north of Ishpeming, Michigan. No traces of lead on this, and there was a trout on the line ten seconds after cast.
Other destinations are not so isolated, but they are still generally overlooked by most tourists. This was true for Yelapa, Mexico, when I went there in 1981. Beaches were packed, you could buy fresh fish for dinner from fishing in the afternoon and a palapa (thatched roof house), rent for about $ 100 per month. The jungle around you could be a bath under the waterfall. No roads lead there, but there was a daily boat from nearby Puerto Vallarta.
Alamogordo, New Mexico
This is not the top list of most tourists, which is good for those of us, our destinations to run like that. It is a great little town, however, and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. There is also a nice place to escape the winter because snow rarely or too cold here.
You can right small zoo in the city for a relaxing afternoon to be checked. There is also an IMAX theater on the north side of town (watch for signs), and probably will not have a long line waiting to Saturday from June to October in., you can use the Farmers Market County Fair Grounds.
If you step over the desert, drive 30 minutes or so up to Cloudcroft in the nearby mountains, or go a little further from the sunspot observer, or the Casino in Ruidoso. If you do it right at the time, you can in the sun a day in Alamogordo and skiing the next day to bask Cloudcroft Ski Area.
For an unusual destination, you can use the Trinity Test Site, where the first atomic bomb exploded. It is about an hour north of Alomogordo, deep lanes confusing and is open only one or two days a year, so we need to do your homework. To the west of the city is the White Sands National Monument, with its amazing white sand dunes.
Storm Lake
Anaconda, Montana is a fun destination in itself. Rent a room on the Harp and Thistle Pub for $ 150 a week and within walking distance of at least ten casinos with nickel slots and a new tea pub and a restaurant Two blocks away, as Washoe Theater, one of the most beautiful country in the Smithsonian Institute, the only charges $ 5 for a movie and 90 cents for a small popcorn. A Jack Nicholas designed golf course is just on the edge of this small town.
If you really want to get away, though, 14 miles west on Highway 1st if you see the sign that says “Storm Lake”, turn to see you there. (Stay left when the road splits), it is nine miles from the lake, but you can with high ground clearance for the last mile to (although I to be there in our Ford Escort used). It is usually a few locals at the lake, but you can always find a parking space.
The lake is about 9,000 feet, and is heavy on the spot for his trout. Hike the trail along the right side and on the other hand, you find the Anaconda pintle wilderness. Less than an hour, until the footsteps Storm is Lake Pass, the tree line. From here you can continue the Goat Meadows tundra environment or in a seemingly endless wilderness of mountains and lakes. They are very rarely any entity other than the bear, birds and mountain goats.
More Flight Secret
Here in our home town of Canon City, Colorado is a region (Red Canyon Park) just ten miles outside the city, the stunning red rock formations and the most famous in the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs.. It will never feel cramped in this park, and you can climb the rocks all you want and explore slot canyons, too. How did you to this destination? Talk to the locals when you travel.
