Prostate Cancer

Every year more than 184000 men are diagnosed to have the prostate cancer and this is becoming a great danger in this modern age. The prostate is a walnut sort gland that is located below the bladder that carries or supplies fluid of sperm during ejaculation.

A number of cancer therapies outside the conventional treatments are adopted which include sometimes surgery, radiation and under certain circumstances chemotherapy. The focus of every treatment remains to get rid of this disease while alternative therapies work more on strengthen the natural body’s defense to resist the spreading of cancer in the body or specific area.

We have the idea that provided under right and good conditions the body itself have the ability to heal and defend the diseases. Alternative therapies help to extend the survival time all the way but one is not certain to get the real healing with passage of time. Conventional treatments do have the side effects yet alternative therapies reduce the side effects associated with the treatment which is regular one.

Some practitioners suggest individualized alternative therapy programs which can be considered to be the best to choose for the patients who are serious. Alternative therapies include;

  1. Selenium is used as a powerful antioxidant and an effective mineral to fight against cancer. A careful study shows that a daily intake of 200 micrograms of selenium cut the incidence of prostate cancer by sixty percent. Selenium is safe and inexpensive but heavy quantities should not be taken without doctor’s prescription.
  2.  Zinc picolinate can be taken 30 to 50 milligrams each day because the prostate gland has the highest concentration of zinc in the body and additional amount helps to fight against cancer battle.
  3. Coenzyme Q10 is a great cancer resistant and helps to generate energy in the cells and found to be very effective to reverse the circle. It is quite safe and potential fighter against the disease.
  4. Saw palmetto is a herb that helps to shrink the prostate tissue and it can also block the effect of the male hormones like testosterone which likely to feed prostate cancer.
