Allah-The Creator

Surah 55 – Al Rahman THE MOST GRACIOUS

055.001 (God) Most Gracious!

055.002 It is He Who has taught the Qur’an………..

055.005 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed;

055.006 And the herbs and the trees – both (alike) bow in adoration………..

055.010 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:…………..

055.013 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

055.014 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,

055.015 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke:

055.016 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

055.017 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:

055.018 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Man has stepped on the moon many decades before. He is unraveling the mysteries of nature since last many centuries. He has defeated the many monsters of diseases. He does claim to be parallel of nature as he can now bring cloning and test tube baby when compared with nature.

All is true. Yes human can go beyond the skies, can capture the living souls, can turn the living beings in their subordinates, can discover life on another planet, can control the sailing seas and can predict the wind storms coming for a great disaster.

But the same human is speechless when finds his beloved one embracing death. His all conquering skills stay helpless and he cannot beat the death.

Here science agrees, humans bow before the power of Almighty. He Who springs life from a barren land and sprouts death in the living limbs.

Human beings belonging to different clans, different religions, different cultures and different geographies do believe that there is a Supreme Power Who is the Lord of the Lords. The supremacy is not denied in any religion. All religions do believe and keep sacred this power. The difference is how they think this Mighty Power exists. Is it shared with a partner? Is it having a family of gods with whom the power is shared?

The answer to these questions forms the base of different religions. Christianity, Jewish, Hinduism and Sikhism believe in the shared power of Lord.

Muslims believe in the unanimity of Lord and do not hold any one in the sharing of Allah. In every language; there are some terms equal to or are used in reference to God or other deities but this is not the case with Allah. The word god does have its plural like gods and is used as feminine like goddess. But Allah is unique name. this is the personal name of God worshipped by Muslims. It does not take any plural and does not have any gender. God is the word for Allah in Aramaic language which is a sister language of Arabic.

The One True God is the reflection of the unique concept that Islam associates with Allah. To a Muslim, Allah is the Creator, Provider, Protector and the Sustainer of Universe. He has 99 names, all explaining words for His attributes and Expressions of His modes for His creations. He is the One Who has created the whole Universe. Nothing can be compared to His Might. He is the Sole Ruler of this universe. Once people asked Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about Allah. The answer came from Heavens given by Allah Himself in the form of a short Quran’s chapter:

“In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
Say (O Muhammad) He is God the One God, the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, nor has been begotten, and equal to Him is not anyone.”

Non Islamic or Non Believers may be led to a wrong image of Allah as some anti Islamic literature declares that Allah is very cruel and demand His creations to be fully obedient; so, a Muslim has a very tough and boring life.

The first feeling that a Muslim feels with the very word of Allah is of Mercy, affection, love and politeness. All chapters of Quran except one start with the announcement of the fact that Allah is the most Merciful and the Compassionate.

Allah calls His creations in Quran by announcing His Mercy and showers of love for all those Who believe in Him and do not hold anyone as His a Partner or share His attributes with anyone. He has created many hidden universes which are still inaccessible for those who are striving to conquer the world.

He is as affectionate as the love of seventy mothers combined together. This is only He Who has taken the responsibility of bread and butter of every living being present on the Earth, Heavens and on His universe.

“No creature is there crawling on the earth, but its provision rests on God. He knows its lodging place and it repository.” (11:6)

Though it is true He has thousands of creations like Angels who worship Him, praise His might and bow before Him day and night yet His love for humans is the greatest. He offers man to bow and believe Him and forget the rest.

“God is the Creator of everything. He is the guardian over everything. Unto Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth.” (39:62, 63)

Thus, it was with the firm belief in Him that 313 beings were triumphant. The ignorant were defeated and the truth was prevailing in War of Badar.

When a man is disappointed, heartbroken, and helpless and is the world stricken, he finds himself on his knees before his Lord. Because he knows that He is the One Who listens and responds.
