Taj Mahal

Among the Seven Wonders of the World, Taj mahal is one. Due to its legendary history and magnificent architecture, it stands on a highest standard of admiration. It has become the source of inspiration since centuries as its history relates an immortal love. A huge crowd of tourists is always present in Agra to view and admire the beauty of taj mahal.The unmatched architectural beauty and the glorious history has marked this building to be considered as wonder of the world.

According to history this building was the dream of Mughal emperor Shah Jehan, who in the memory of Mumtaz mahal, his deceased wife built Taj mahal in 1653.The building took 22 years to get completed and almost 22000 people worked day and night to complete it. White marble of high quality was used to give it a unique and most exciting view. The fitting of precious stones in its structure further enhances its beauty.

The unique monument stands upon raised square platform with having four corners shortened, giving a shape of unequal octagon.Basically, an Italian concept of architectural design is seen worked in its construction. Each element is erected on its own foundation and is fully integrated with the main structure. The dome is built in the centre and four adjoining dooms are placed in geometrical symmetry including many decorated walls and panels. They represent the Islamic art at its height. The inside area is an emblem of high class calligraphy decorated with flowering objects along. The fitting of precious stones is also done with unmatched expertise.

The main gate area is near to a garden compound, a mosque, a guest house and several adjoining buildings. The river Jamna is just behind adding a great view to this building. The Taj mahal is glorious under full moon night; at this instance its beauty enhances several times. The unmatched qualities of this building has placed it in great historical significance and given it place of a great tourist venue at all. The dramatic and romantic aspect has added to its value and grandeur.
